Colchester 1952

£40.00

In this simulation you control all traffic in the Colchester area, from Marks Tey in the west to Manningtree in the east, and including St Botolphs and the Clacton branch as far as just east of Hythe. The simulation is set before nationalisation had brought much in the way of changes; Great Eastern classes are still much in evidence. Most services in the area continued largely as they had done for decades past.

Description

In this simulation you control all traffic in the Colchester area, from Marks Tey in the west to Manningtree in the east, and including St Botolphs and the Clacton branch as far as just east of Hythe. The simulation is set before nationalisation had brought much in the way of changes; Great Eastern classes are still much in evidence. Most services in the area continued largely as they had done for decades past. There were still several goods yards for local traffic. Traffic was marshalled mainly at the Colchester yard, but some shunting will also be required at Marks Tey and Manningtree, and local traffic will have to be dealt with at all stations, but particularly at Hythe, where there is a street tramway serving several wharves and industrial premises. The shunting of both goods and passenger traffic will keep you very busy at times; trains may have short turn-round times, particularly at St Botolphs. The nature of the traffic changes radically on a Saturday, with extras to the various coast resorts, particularly Clacton, and less goods traffic during the day. Sunday is rather quieter. This simulation has six track screens.
